CCC Membership Policy
Per Section 2B of CCC’s organizational bylaws, the Board of Directors may establish categories of non-voting general members and may set annual dues for all members of this organization. Beginning in 2025, this organization will adopt a system for accepting new, non-voting general members, as follows:
A. Organizations generally considered to already be members of this organization as of January 2025 shall be grandfathered into this organization and voluntarily asked to ascribe to the procedures set forth below. The Board of Directors shall determine through a majority vote the slate of organizations so grandfathered and accepted as general members.
B. Persons or organizations interested in general membership shall submit a basic application form to the Board of Directors, obtained from the organization’s website and submitted via email to the president. General members may be nonprofit organizations, public/government entities, educational institutions, community organizations, or private entities with missions that relate to and/or reinforce the stated mission of the CCC.
C. At its quarterly meeting, the Board of Directors shall act on the membership applications before it and approve or decline a new slate of members through a majority vote. Approval of a general member will be based on the following criteria:
• A connection and commitment to CCC’s mission to collectively foster a sustainable and healthy community that balances economic growth with the need to preserve and enhance open space, wildlife habitats, clean air and water, public health, and recreational opportunities.
• Commitment to attend general member meetings. Another representative from your organization may be assigned to attend in your place.
• A willingness to contribute to advance the CCC by active participation at meetings, participation on a committee or the board, and/or donating membership funds to support expenses associated with the organization’s meeting and activities.
D. Upon approval for membership, new general members shall be asked for a voluntary annual dues contribution to this organization. The amount of annual dues shall be flexible, based on a given general member’s own assessment of its ability to pay. Annual dues request will range from ten to one-hundred dollars ($10.00 to $100.00). At the start of each calendar year, this organization shall send a request that general members renew their membership and voluntary annual dues contribution. There shall be no expectation that the renewal amount be the same as prior contributions, as an organization’s financial assessment of its ability to pay may change over time.
E. Public entity partners are exempt from membership dues, but are welcome to contribute at any time, if their policies allow.
F. Non-affiliated individuals may become a CCC advocate and make an annual donation via the CCC website to further the mission. To attend a general meeting, one must contact the president to establish an organizational affiliation through the member application process. With notice in advance, guests may attend a meeting to consider becoming a member or to serve as a speaker.
